What is a metabolism?Updated a year ago
Your metabolism is not one static thing in your body, such as an organ or a muscle, rather it’s a complicated orchestration of chemical reactions in your body that change food into energy. When you hear of people having “fast” or “slow” metabolism, it’s due to the fact that each of our bodies are obviously different and use fuel (the food we consume) at different rates.
Whenever you need more energy, the thyroid will deliver hormones to help increase your metabolism. You can read more about the metabolic process here.
